Ayaka Matsuda has been performing regularly since the age of 16 at various international festivals, including the Chopin Festival in Nohant, the International Piano Festival in La Roque d’Anthéron, the Epau Festival, the Syrinx Festival, and the Scarbo Festival. She gives solo recitals both in France and in her native Japan. Particularly drawn to the music of Frédéric Chopin and Gabriel Fauré, she performed the complete ballades, preludes, and nocturnes of the former during a tour in Tokyo, as well as the complete nocturnes of the latter. This has earned her a great reputation in Japan for her interpretation of these composers. Her musical interests go beyond the pursuit of instrumental virtuosity, as Ayaka continues to deepen her experiences as a chamber musician and accompanist. To this end, she founded the Duo Tamaki, which is a regular guest of the Young Talents Association, and the Igami Quartet. After participating in the ensemble residency program at the 2022 edition of the La Roque d’Anthéron festival, the Igami Quartet joined the Chamber Music Master’s program at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 2023, as well as the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMAster). Her exceptional talent as an accompanist has led her to collaborate with numerous instrumentalists of her generation in both France and Japan. All of these activities have allowed her to enroll in several programs at the CNSM (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique) in Paris, where she studies with renowned musical figures such as Hortense Cartier-Bresson, Itamar Golan, Claire Désert, and Jean-Frédéric Neuburger. Ayaka Matsuda is the laureate of the International Young Talents Competition in Normandy and has received the Monique Rollin Prize from the Fondation de France. She is supported by numerous foundations, including the Meyer, Tarazzi, and Nguyen Tien Dao Foundations.
