Violinist Ju-Young Baek has performed at world-renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center and NHK Hall. She has performed with the London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra, St. Petersburg Orchestra, NHK Symphony, Tokyo Symphony, among others. As a chamber musician, she has participated in the festivals of Marlboro, Ravinia, Casals, Naantali, Aspen, and Salzburg, among others. She is currently the leader of Ensemble Opus, and was the leader of Sejong Soloists. A winner of numerous international competitions such as Indianapolis, Paganini, Sibelius, Long-Thibaud, and Queen Elisabeth International Competitions, her career was launched after winning 1st prize at the YCA Auditions in New York and the Astral Artists of Philadelphia.
Since 2005, she has been faculy of Seoul National University, where she was appointed as the youngest professor ever in the history of its College of Music. Ju-Young is also the first Korean violinist to release the complete set of Beethoven violin sonatas in 2020, followed by complete Ysaye Sonatas for Solo Violin.
